- 4 medium baking apples
- 1/2 cup chopped mixed dried fruit
- 2–4 tablespoons chopped toasted pecans
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2–3 tablespoons cold margarine, cut into pieces
- Core apples, cutting to, but not through, bottoms; peel 1 inch skin from tops.
- Fill apples with combined remaining ingredients and place in slow cooker; cover and cook on high until tender, 1.5 to 2 hours.
